good news about lighting.

First, I ordered new fogs and a roundel sunday night from bimmer parts. Fogs are ZKW and look great and fit great. Came with bulbs and bracket for $53. Not bad considering I purchased just a bracket from the dealer two weeks ago. After my incident when the fog fell out last thursday, I had to order new ones. My other has been F'd for a while. So two days later I get them and rewire them. The previous owner had them running off the lowbeams. I cut the parking light and run them off it now. I'll post pics later or tomorrow.

Second, after being told my HID order would ship April 28 (and I did receive a tracking number), it failed to arrive on thursday when it was scheduled to. Called, was told they would check and call back yesterday. never did. Called today, driver just picked up package. Fedex verified. So, finally, after 5 months, I will have my correct HID kit and install it the day I get it, be it this week or next.

I have to admit guilt here. I have been anticipating your analysis of aftermarket HID's prior to any further investment on my part with regards to lighting! :wink

i went out to take pics but I left the memory stick in my card reader. I'll have to pick it up tomorrow.

Although I must say, these fogs illuminate much better than the old ones. Plus they look better, all clean and not cracked.

Man oh man. I hope these lights work for you. I'm sure they will. I ended up selling my HID kit and am anticipating a ZKW ellipsoid/angeleyes investment in the near future with an H1 HID kit....

What you will be paying for xenon lights? You also have to install an automatic aim and headlights spray unit. Here the law obliges us to do that.

I paid 400 for a 5000k kit from preoxenon. They do not come reccomended. Bohmen is the manufacturer and the kit is ISO 9006, DOT, SAE, and TUV certified, although not DOT legal. Since you don't have to worry about the US DOT, it shouldn't matter.

They were around 53 each. My total order was 133 shipped for the fogs and roundel. Quick shipping though. Ordered sunday, got tuesday.

DOT won't have any idea that you have a kit not DOT approved. What color temperature is legal? I thought it was around 3500-4200...

We try not to order from PCP. Their parts tend to lack quality and tatse.

Do a search, you will find almost everyone who has ordered from them has had to return or exchnage the item.

As for legal color temp, I don't think there is a legal limit on it. However, most OEm kits are from 4300-5000
