Is This A Good Deal?

Heyall!

Im brand new to the forums and beemers in general and was told this was a good place to come to, just looking for a lil advice.

An opportunity arose where i could get a 1994 bmw 325 for $3500cdn. I dont know too many details other than it has 200k on it, there are no current problems with it, just had a new pearl white paint job and the guy who has it worked at a dealership (so im assuming its been maintained alright) BTW its an automatic too...id prefer a stick but beggers cant be choosers...

My concern is with 200k on it, would i be walkin into a money pit? im not sure the reliability on beemers, especially this old with this milage. Is this worth it? or wil i be looking at potentially huge bills to keep it going?

I have a friend who has a beamer with over 300k miles on it. The price sounds right, but of course you can always try to get it lower. If I were you I would do two things:

-get a compression test
-pull the codes to see if anything comes up

You're right beggars can't be chosers. I ended up buying an automatic myself simply because the deal was too good.

Yep it's still going. My buddy and his dad took care of the car. He drives it about 60-80 miles a day. Still going strong!
