Hi all,

The trim panel above my glovebox in the '91 E36 has a very sloppy latch, i'm going to get around the scrappys this weekend and look for a replacement, does anyone know if the later 96 onwards panel is a direct fit?

The panel i'm referring to houses the glovebox door latch, release button and the two heater vents:

91 - 96:

96 onwards:

It's only secured by 4 tapping screws and theres 4 clips on the back, it *looks* like a straight fit, but does anyone know for sure?

Thanks in advance.

bmwultdrivinmach,

Answered my own question, its a yes.
the wiring for the glovebox light and torch is apparently different, but nothing that can't be improvised.

Mines a '91 auto and i've been bit by bit updating the cockpit, so far i've replaced the T-Bar shifter with an E46 leather sports shifter, and upgraded the nasty rubber handbrake grip to a leather one.

Glovebox panel and a steering wheel upgrade to go and she'll be a different car inside.

I'll post up before and after pics when it all comes together.
