what's up guys. I've been reading about mods and maintanence and have found a ton of stuff out there. I'm getting a near mint 92 w/ high miles (180k) and wanted to know what to look for prior to purchase. Is $4000 a decent price? I'm going to comp. check the motor, what psi should I expect? What should I look out for? Who's parts should I buy (dinan makes nice stuff, but pricey) What do 325is's dyno stock, and about how much rwhp w/ intake, chip, exhaust? What's the difference between 92 and 93 and newer 325is's? I've done a lot of searching, so forgive me if you guys feel I'm asking covered questions. Thanks for the help though, I look forward to getting my bim...
92s have lower compression and lack vanos. Have different cams, different valve springs, supposed stronger connecting rods, ussually weigh less because of a lack of options, have weak subframes..... just to name a few.
Dyno could be expected in the 150-160 range stock with chip, intak, exhaust, cams you could see 200 to the wheels.

Anyone who calls a 92 inferior to the 93 because the vanos motor has more HP doesn't know what they're talking about. The vanos motor does not have more HP, what is does have is a peak torque at about 1k rpms sooner.
Stock compression on a 92 is 10:1
