gear stick

ok. the gator is off so and is the foam bit and the rubber. how do i take the gear stick out to replace it's worn bush. all i see is a metal ring with some sort of plastic retaining thing (guessing thats the bush).please help. john.

there will be two flat openings in the plastic retainer thing sorry lol, the easiest way is to place two criss cross flat head screw drivers into these openings push out and turn the plastic ring, I forget if it's clock-wise or counter clock-wise but by turning those it will release the shift lever from the carrier

^^ Yup. WHat he said. Turn the bushing anti-clockwise with a couple of flat-head screwdrivers.
