gear problems

i can quickly change gear from 1st - 2nd but i have to be really careful with third and kinda feel the gear into positions but all that waiting (bout a second or 2) lets the revs drop and is making it harder to race, any ideas what the problem could be?

syncronizers in the tranny maybe? someone might have not had good shift technique, or not pushing the clutch in enough, or racing too much. probably and expensive fix if i had to guess though

Yup, Sounds like a synchro (ie transmission). I agree with the previous writer. Too much quick shifting/racing.

that could be the problem but its been like that since i had the car and it only had one owner previously that was an old man.
