seriously! ever since i got my e36 i was like wtf? such easy access to the gas tank? i knew i wasnt the only paranoid one. might have to go kragen and buy myself one for my car.

My gas door locks when I lock the car. You might check and see if the lock solenoid on the gas door is broken...
umm mine just unscrews and comes completely off as does hers... so she pulled it out and put it on the pump and drove off. weird thing is, car has been running fine for like a week without it. She just now noticed it was gone.
no no no, on the door, there's a little caddy thingy, a holder bracket for the cap.
Mine comes completely off too, if I wanted to, I could throw it at other cars or something, it's not teathered. (I hate those!)
