Fuse #31 blows when car is turned off

Hi i am new to this forum I have a friend who bought a 96 328 i convertible with the 2.8L DOHC motor. Today he left for work and stoped for a cup of coffee. Whehe got back in the car it would not start i found that fuse #31 was blown so i changed it and the car started and would stumble every few min. but would not stall i shut the car off and the fuse blew right away anybody now what would cause this problem or atleast where to start looking for the problem

FUSE 31 on your 96 328 takes care of:
1) START circuit
2) ZKE central locking
3) Drive away protection (EWS II) if equipped
4) Instrument Cluster
5) Clock
6) Board Computer

it take a 5 AMP fuse, and if blows all the time, you have a short in one of these circuits. a one time blown fuse... tht was prolly just a glitch ;-)

this problem has not happend again it must of just been a glitch thank you for the fast reply
