fuel pump relay shorted out
1997 328iC convertible
electrical wiring harness short problem
110k miles, automatic transmission, no check engine light.
Last week I started up my car and it stalled out in the parking lot. I attempted to start it again, and it ran for a few mins, and stalled out again.
The next thing I know, I noticed a burning wire smell and saw little smoke inside the car.
I have located the wire harness by the top of the hood/dash area had a shorted-out wire, and also my fuel pump relay burned out.
Everything is fuctioning fine, I know the car won't start because no power is going to the fuel pump; thus, no fuel pressure.
Has anyone had this problem with this model? Any advise would be appricated.
