hey guys
i need help on fuel filter, i cant find where is the : fuel filter located on my 94 325i.
i just bought a new fuel filter from napa. can some body please let me know. if its possible send some pics too,
thnx
i have an odd kind of off subject question...why when i asked the parts guy at the stealership how much the fuel filter is and if he had one, he replied "you usually never change the fuel filter in a bimmer". that is one of the first things i do when i buy a car, is to replace that. i don't understand why bimmer would or how they could have a lifetime fuel filter. i of course used my own jugdement and swapped it out but this thread just reminded me of that. any thoughts?
currently have ojt at a bmw dealership here in the philippines
the fuel filter is located at the underchassis driver side near the transmission axle. its usually covered by a metal strap that just needs a size 10 wrench to remove.
make sure the person you are dealing with is aware that the changing fuel filter is a basic check/ procedure during inspections with the regular periodic check-ups
common problems that arise with not changing involves poor gas pedal reaction/response (due to poor air-fuel ratio combustion in engine), rough idling and so on.
its lifetime is not standard and needs to be changed when needed
Exactly. I don't know of a single vehicle that you wouldn't change the fuel filter on. That is a standard performance/maintenance item. And I totally agree with you, any used vehicle over 40-50K miles gets a new fuel filter when I buy it. Just seems to clear alot of performance issues up.
