Went to start my newly aquired '94 318i car would crank over by not fire. Mobile mechanic arrived and tapped on the base of the fuel tank engine started OK. He stated the fuel pump was probably the problem and recommednded to replace as soon as possible. What is the degree of difficulty to replace fuel pump? Are these easy to get hold of?
It shouldn't be too bad of a job and i don't think you will have any problem finding a pump. Just make sure you disconnect the battery when working with the fuel system.
