Has anyone changed their front wheel bearings themselves? My passengerside front wheel bearing is gone and needs to be replaced soon. I'd like to do the work myself to save money. I think I read somewheres that you need a press to get the bearing out, and a press to get the new one in?
If I have to pay a shop to do the work, how much should it cost? Labor rates in my area are in the $50-$75 an hour.

I replaced one on my 94. It will take a puller to get the hub off and then the inside bearing stayed on the spindle and had to be tapped off from the inside. The nut that holds the hub on torques 217 ft lbs and is staked so you will need a new nut to do the job right and a good torque wrench, plus a large socket. I can't remember the size of the socket.
would a shop should be able to do it with two hours of labor?
