Front suspension/steering rack questions

I noticed the bushings in the swaybar are loose and cracked. I also noticed that the steering rack boot is torn in a couple of places. So my question is do I need to have both the boot and bushing replaced? Is it absolutely necessary? I would think with the steering rack boot, if it rains or dirt gets in, it won't be good. Can I get just the boot replaced?

As for the bushing, can I just replace it?

The rubber bushings on the sway bar are very easy to replace. Simply take the bolts off of the brackets surrounding the bushings, pull the brackets off of the bushings and pull the bushings off (they are split in the middle). Some new bushings are not split and require one end of the sway bar to be separated at the end so the new bushings can be slipped onto the sway bar. Lube them up good and they will glide over the bar. As to the rack boot, replacing it requires that the tie rod end be separated from the knuckle and the new one slipped into position and clamped on. You don't want to wait too long on that one as road grime and the elements can make a mess of the ball/socket on the inboard side of the joint.
