front suspension noise

hi all,

i went over this dip in the road and heard some really really wierd noise - some thing similar to tearing noise or when water hits the back of ur mudguard.

it happens whenever i go over dips in the road. seems to coming from front left wheel. it doesnt happen when i put the left wheel in a pot hole. only in road dips.

any ideas wht it cud be?

i drive a 97 328is.

hmmm.... that noise is still a little vague in my mind. How fast are you going when you go over these "road dips" and how radical of a dip are they?

happens even at 30/40 miles per hour. these dips are not steep at all. another description for the noise would be something scrapping. hmmm.... cud it be my tire is scrapping the body - owww how wud tht happen ?

Is your car lowered or do you have oversized wheels? My back tires rub against the frame if I go around a corner too fast with a lot of weight in the car (4 people), but I've never heard a scraping noise. Did you check for any loose or hanging parts on the undercariage?

Fender well may have come loose and is hanging down a bit lower than it normally does. My left front screws broke through the plastic that holds it up and whenever I make a REALLY HARD (all the way) right turn,(any speed) the tire scrapes it.

No biggie, just tack it back up somehow. See if the wheel wells are loose.

It could be your front bumper or some part dragging on the ground! That's not cool.
