Front struts - BMW Forum

I need to replace the front struts on both sides. Can I get some that are cheaper than what I get from the dealer but wont just fall apart? If so where/how much?

Bilstein, Koni and even KYB (though probably "worst" of the 3 -- not necessarily bad just not as good) are all good.

Check BMW Parts and BMW Accessories | Bavarian Autosport, Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels and Auto Parts - Discount OEM Audi Parts, BMW Parts, Mercedes Parts, Porsche Parts, Volkswagen Parts, VW Parts. Should be able to find something you like.

If I was going with just factory replacements, I'd probably go with Bilstein tourings (a little over a 100 per piece) and call it a day.

ps. Bilstein was the original shock manufacturer for some of our cars -- you really can't go wrong with their products.

so those ^ would be fine?
And also, if anyone could give me a link to a diy for strut replacement that would be great.

yes pelican site rocks! local compant quoted me $350 to replace my sagging headliner, went to fabricland (along with about 40 grandmas) found my new headliner material for $20 and did it myself following the pelican DIY! well worth doing!

new headliner turned out perfect!

Don't get KYBs, get either Koni's or Bilsteins. I like the HDs a lot myself.

Dyeah I went with koni. Didn't know they were bright construction orange haha. But you can't see them so its all good. I'm satisfied with the quality.
