Cool Front Seat Not Reclining

I have a 1996 328i convertible and both of my front seats don't recline forward. The lever on the side of the seat feel to losse. I have tried to take the back cover but I feel like I am going to break the cover if I pull to hard.

Has anyone had this problem. If they have how do you take off the back cover of seat and what did they find with the recliner levers.

I found the problem the BOWDEN CABLE (item 12 on bimmerspecialist.com front seat controls) is broken.

I was wondering if it is difficult to replace.

I know I have to take out the entire seat which means to loosen all four bolts on each comer of bottom of seat the connects to the car and the one cable harness that connects to the seat. Is there anything else that I am missing?

Does anyone know what to do once I take out the seat? Because I cannot see where the cable is connected.

I do not want to take seat out until I order the cable and have it on my possession or should I first take out seat.

Does anyone have recommendations?

Ok, do not take the seat out or disconnect any of the plugs under the seat until you disconnect the battery 1st, because 1 of the plugs will trip the air bag light to come on & stay on.....so until the job is complete... in this order: 1). disconnect the neg. batt. cable... 2) remove 4 bolts mounted to the floor, 3) tip seat back & disconnect all plugs attached to seat...4) remove seat from car & repair.... DO NOT CONNECT THE BATTERY UNTIL THE SEAT IS REINSTALLED WITH ALL PLUGS CONNECTED!!!!!
