Front Fog Lights E36

Both of my front fogs will not come on , all very sudden. There is a panel beneath the engine to stop me from getting access to the underneath of the car.

Before i remove it does anyone have any ideas on what to look out for , like a relay switch or cold it be a faulty interior switch.

Is the relay in the fuse box as both fuses are not blown.

well wehn you have the low beam on and the fog light siwcht pressed in, does the green light lights up on the dashboard???

if yes, then the siwcht works.

i would then look for fuses, obvious, and then the relay.
but only look for the relays after you make sure your bulbs are good..

you dont need to take the plasctics underneath the bumper to take the fog out...
all you do is looking form the front of the car to the fog light, youll see a little tab that when pressed will release the fog light, this is also explained on the bmw car manual, fog light bulb replacement and also on the Bentley service manual.

then after you see lights are good and that wire contacts is also good, then look for the realy..
i think is the relay since both went out at the same time..

in order to tell you where that relay is, pleade send me your last 7 digits of your vin, so i can see exactly wich year and car model it is..

Thanks for the advice , the switch for the fog lights is not coming up on the dash when it is pressed in , i can see th rear fogs come on. So i will check the bulbs and then pop out the switch.

Any ideas on which switch is the relay for the front fogs , i have not got an owners manual and the map on the fusebox is gone.

The car is a 318 se 1997 UK spec i will get the VIN number for you later .....

you sure its not a fuse? i would change it just to be sure...
