Front adjustable Camber plate instalation questions ????????

I'm installing camber plates to my 325I Vert I know most of you will say if you used the simple H&R and Bilsteins then you dont need to use camber plates because H&R's are not that big of a drop to use those. Yes im aware of that however before this car was given a new motor and transmission it had highmiles since it was driven from DFW to Austin more than a few times by the previous owner so it had/has high miles on the body. Never been wrecked but my good friend at a alignment shop here in my area looked to align my car and said it cant be done. We called Tunermotorsports and Bavarian autosport and talked to them and they both said due to the car having miles on the Body sometimes they run into this problem and the only way to align the car is to buy and install front adjustable camber plates.


installing these im sure im going to have to tear into it again and start be removing the struts and replace my Strut hats with these plates right ?
How hard is this and are there any instructions out there because what came with these plates only tells how to adjust once they are on.
Have any of you done this ?

I just installed the H&R springs and Bilstein sport shocks and when I got my car aligned was told that I too needed camber plates. I am waiting to see if my tires start wearing before tackling this. I would never have purchased this setup if I had known that this setup would necessitate camber plates.

Camber is going to happen when you lower the car. You need camber plates to adjust to 0 camber, if that is what your shop thinks you want. Ask them what degrees camber you're at for each corner.


Installing them isn't very hard. Basically thy replace the top parts of the struts. i don't know that there are very many guides out these but try BMW DIY.com. No offense, but after installing a couple dozen e36 & e46 suspensions and being a very busy person I won't be able to walk you through it. All I will tell you is to be careful and logical (very logical --> extratime here) regarding th eproper direction and assignment of th eleft and right camber plates.
