Fried trans.

Well, it seems like my transmission is fried. The engine starts and revs, but whatever gear I put it in, the car doesn't move. First the third and fourth gears went out, then the first and second.

I need some serious help/advice on this. Where should I get a transmission and what kind of figures are we talking here?

The car is a 94 325is coupe

How many miles on your car, i would go threw a bmw werkshop if u can find one, not the stealer.

automatic? have you checked the torque converter?

It's a 5 speed, 100K miles on the engine, however the title indicates that is "Not Actual Mileage"

Everything ran smooth until today. I grinded the gears when i attempted to shift into the wrong gear. An hour later I redlined it twice.

maybe bad clutch, maybe bad throw-out bearing... dont seem like your trans is out.. if you can still put it in and out of gear, then your tranny guts are still intact.. when i blew my trans in my 3000gt vr4, I couldn't put it in gear at all, all the shafts had snapped when i did a 6g RPM launch and it just made a huge POP sound and shook... your trans doesn't sound gone to me..
