One of my fog lights kinda fell off and crack, and I have it ghetto taped right now and its fine, but maybe its time.... I have some nice HID regular lights, which are like brighter than my hi-beams, lol, but I would like some fogs to compliment them... my choices?
1. Standard HID fogs, OEM style or aftermarket, $40-$60 I think from like DDM DDM Tuning : Fog Lights
Or anything else u guys have that might be cool, but I do not want to spend over $70 or so for the kit since I am also paying to get them installed, thanks!!!
Personally I'm not a big fan of the led fogs, seems like they are more for looks. I need to do my fog lights also but I plan to get the set in bav autoworks. But I my wait until I get a new bumper.
Ya i think so too, ricey someone called it, lol... what about these, I think I'll get them, cheap and with the hyperwhites, it should be ok i think, not too yellow:

I had the projector fog lights, but wanted to change the color of my bulbs from blue to purple and the bulbs (on the set I had, very similar to the ones pictured) couldn't be interchanged. I refused to run blue tint fog lights with purple tint headlight bulbs.
Purple headlights may be tacky to some, but the bluish tint is way overdone where I live ... so no haters please
Purple tinted or 12,000k bulbs? Why purple? That is the least visible light in the color spectrum. I know people think it looks cool, but that's worse visibility then stock.
oh, they are just purple tinted. Being 100% totally honest though, I have had the bulbs in for over 6 months and have yet to drive the car at night. My BMW is not my daily driver ... LOL ... it's hardly even a monthly driver. I love the car and am fighting to the miles as low as I can, after the previous owner (apparently) drove the f@@@ out of it. I put only 238 miles on it last year.
I've seen guys drive with purple bulbs and the stock headlights in my GNC Jimmy outshine them. I don't even know how they see anything. I know how much those lights suck so if a guy with purple bulbs ever hits me I will have an excellent lawsuit, as most of those bulbs are not DOT legal.
I've had cheap projector headlights on my BMW and they suck. Can't see shit at night. I recommend if you are gonna do night driving please get rid of them. The tint filters out all the good light in te color spectrum and only leaves purple which is the lowest output light.
I can see how the purple tint wouldn't be the best ... but like I said I don't drive the car at night ...I have my GMC Envoy for that (I like being "up" where I can see).
I will have to check out that article, I can see the low output and poor visibility with the purple bulbs, but purple tint? Hummm, never really thought about that, just like the look on my white car. Blue bulbs, however overdone they may be, seem like they would be pretty good, as blue highlights white and light colors more vividly.
Maybe I need to put a little more thought into my color choice. I have bright white Angel Eye rings, and just thought the purple would be more eye catching.
Your welcome. The reason lower quality bulbs use the filters is to give it the appearance of a 12,000k bulb. Same with the blue bulbs. They use a filter to filter out the light they don't want to give it the appearance they want.

2. Or what I really like, are the 8 LED daytime/switched lights that fit in the fog hole, but are these bright enough to make a difference at night? Or are they all looks only? Like this:

You need to go with led lights as they consume much less power and last very long
