Fog lamp replacement

I'm still new to BMW's but i'm quickly becoming a believer that it really is the U.D.M.
I've got a fog lamp out and was wondering how difficult it is to replace. Does it use a bulb or does the whole lamp need to be replaced. If so can I get one at the local car parts place or will i need to order one? I looked at a couple of DIY sites but no help. Any words of wisdom from prior experience?

its a very simple procedure...

first of all, its an H1 bulb... so go out and soend 6 bucks for a bulb...

then on the innerside of the foglamp housing you should be able to pop out the whole light. then the back just twists off, replace the bulb, then just pop is back in... its very easy...

they are just cliped into the braket, and the braket is screwed into the bumper

becareful when you pop it back in not to push to hard on that little clip otherwise you will break it off..

good advice, ive broken my old brackets, and my new ones, when I got new fogs already. Mine were from driving though, had to drill and put in self-tapping screws to reinforce the bracket.

I actually found it better to release the foglight from reaching in through the hood, past the headlights (although I never tried the other way). A lot of people seem to complain about breaking the little clip, so I figured unlatching it though the hood with just your hands makes that less likely...
