Flowmaster ? Magna Flow>?

Of course most of you are able to dump a 1000G Dinan exhaust system into your cars. I don't have that much money to spend but my friend suggested getting a FLOWMASTER muffler on my 1997 318i. I know this may sound dumb to you but on his 944S, it sounded loud and sporty. I just want my car to sound agressive and loud, (i dont care that much about performance) Do any of you have any ideas like this or anything under 300 bucks>? Thanks alot

in all honosty, just a muffler doesnt sound sporty. it sounds annoying. like someone is riding on a weed wacker. save up some, then you can get a dinan exhaust. but there are other companies than dinan. Ansa, Super Sprint, Remus and Bavauto, just to name a few. its also easier if you just get a cat-back. since your car already has a cat-back. the muffler connects right to the cat. theres no point in just buying a muffler when youll spend more to get it installed. they will have to cut the pipes and weld the muffler on, weld the hanger bars in place. its just not worth it. a cat-back is going for arounf 500 bucks. just save up a little bit, youve got 300 already, you just need 200 more. trust me, itll be worth the wait.

bavauto doesnt make them, they sell other brands. dont get the dinan though, they just use supersprint ones and put the dinan logo on. the aa tuning produces the most hp and doesnt sound abnociously loud like the b&b triflow does. europersona carries them for 580 shipped. they are normally 650 plus shipping...

I'm with you 318i. Go to the magnaflow website and you can here what one of their mufflers sounds like on a vr6 jetta. I figured that would give you a decent idea of what you can expect. Buying a muffler and getting it welded on would cost well under $500. I used to have a chevy pickup and I got a custom header back exhaust made from my local shop for around $150. I'm sure you could get a nice magnaflow system for 2 or 3 hundred.

Oh and by the way 1000G is alot of money, actually I don't think it's possible, I think you ment 1G.
