First Bimmer

alright, i finally got a bimmer, 1995 325is. i bought it from a friend for $1400 car is mint and well taking care of, the reason he sold so cheap is because the timing chain skipped a couple teeth. friend of the family who is reliable mechanic is going to charge me a $1000 to change the chain using original bmw parts, what do u guys think was it a good deal also can u recommend any parts i should look to replace, anything that tends to go on higher mileage bimmers

any advise would be apprieciated

While you are replaceing parts, hit the common inexpensive ones. Vacuum hoses, Heater/Radiator hoses, Belts, Plugs Wires. Inexpensive and in need if you have high mileage.
