| Finished auto to manual swap, tranny whining noise. Hey guys,
So I just finished my auto to manual swap in my E36. Cars running well, transmission is shifting well and no grinds. But when I am driving there is a loud humming/whining noise coming from the transmission area. We did the first test drive without putting the shifter insulation back in and the noise didn't happen at all. We stopped and got food and when we started driving again the noise occurred in every gear. It almost sounded like the transmission was a dogbox with straight cut gears. It happens in every gear and is variant with rpms/load and stops when I press the clutch pedal.
First thing that came to my mind was input/output shaft seal.
The car has a new clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
Thanks |
