Hello just introducing myself. After years of reading these forums I thought I better join. My parents have owned BMWs for the past 15 years. So growing up I became a BMW nut job. I have both a 93 325is and a 85 325e. Both were my parents at one time. They know have a 01 330i and a 71 2002 with a tii engine.
My e36 IS has chrome 18s, e46 M3 bumper, angle eyes, used the forum to learn how to take the gray crap off the side skirts, and painted the back bumper (Acetone works best) This is my college car (graduating with my Bachelors this spring)
My 85 325e has the 16s, reiger e46 M3 body kit direct from Germany (not the ebay knock off), lowered it 2 1/2", Aluminum trim for interior (bought on ebay..sucks) Momo this and that, custom red and black seats, etc.. Also have a e36 328is engine I have debated putting it in that or building it up for my IS. This was my high school car, to much sentimental value to sell, Dick Van Dyke's son originally owned it! Probably make it end to a weekend racer.
Next for me (once out of school) will either be to turbo my IS (DIY kit) into something ridiculous and get a Range Rover, or screw the whole idea and get me a M coupe 2001+ so I get the 315 ponies. Then would like to give that coupe to AA for about a month.
To make this a tech worthy submit, any ideas on how to build a set of foglights that fit the e46 m3 bumper with out droping $300 to get the real deal. All of the knock offs dont fit right. I used a plexi-like glass that can withstand heat as covers now want to put lights in back of it.
If anyone is interested in adding a e46 m3 style bumper, I can help explain how to do it, My friend used to do this for a living, and he showed me how to do it the right way.
to the forums. Always nice to have an experienced Bimmerhead around. I'd love to see some pics of your cars, sounds like you've done a lot or work to both.
Wish I could help with the driving light issue, but I would probably just drop the change and go oem, that way you know they won't fog, and will fit properly.
