I decided to keep my car black, but my body man said it's possible and not that much harder to take the car to a different color including white. Anyways, I AM For sure sticking with black now, but want opinions on people's favorite colors of black? the original paint code for my car is 668 = Jet Black I think, and was wondering if there was something different/better. Example, Woobie's black is freaking sweet. thanks for the help.
Btw, I'm doing all the prep work on the car and he's doing the rest. Going to cost me a total of 600 bucks in labor and whatever paint costs. going to laydown 5-7 layers of paint I believe.
got keyed a summer ago all over the hood, drivers side doors and passengers side.
someone kicked and put a dent in my drivers side door
someone ran into my passenger side fender
my buddies mom side swiped me while backing up and scratched my drivers side door even worse
a shopping cart, yes cart, at walmart late one night flew into my trunk and dented it!
my sister forgot to put the car into gear/put on ebrake on a sligh incline and it rolled into a garage behind it and scratched the edge of the trunk pretty badly.
Cosmo black is always a blast thats what my M3 is, i know its technicly not a black (deep deep deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep blueish purp) but i personaly love it, you can stare at it and i swear it gets deeper and more interesting, but im sure its also gonna cost a pretty penny. but it has always been one of my fav..... just my .02 ok i need to stop before i make any more referances to change or money .

I'd would say that if a paint shop says it isn't a big deal to change colours, you're going to the wrong paint shop. It is a big deal to change colours properly and very expensive if you are to get quality work done. My son's car is black, but some weird black. What I did to save money but go with a quality body shop that does good work as recommended by my local BMW service department, is this: do what I could to get away with the least amount of money (it was still expensive) but having it look professional. So some panels were deep polished then clear coated only, some panels had some body work done, re-painted and clear coated, the roof was deep polished only. By doing quality painting and clear coating on what needs to be re-done, and deep polishing that which is really okay, you can save money and have the car look like its new off the dealer's lot. Clear coating surrounding panels to the newly painted panels matches everything up to look new. Trust me this is the way to go for good work, yet save money.
I could have had a complete Maaco paint job over the entire car for one third of what I paid, but what I had done, look three times better than a Maaco job.
get a pure jet black with high gloss, no pearls or anything, it'll make it look like black liquid...sounds too much but in reality its very sweeet!! what brand paint and clear is your friend gonna use!?
