Finally got my 325is - BMW Forum

Well so I got my 92' 325is YAY! But I have a few questions, appreantly I have an alarm on the car, YET no remotes, I saw the siren, and the red light in the car. How can I get a remote to program it? and does that mean I have remote locking as well in which case I need the remote for that also lol.

Also I know it's a 92' but were VANOS installed on those? and how easy is it to check if it is there, like if the old owner got one installed.

Lastly, how can I check if I have Limited-Slip Dif ?

I know these might be incredibly stupid questions, but thanks for you patience in reading them

Also i found under the drivers side of the dash near the hood release, there is a silver switch? We have NO clue what this is for haha.

programming is very easy, u need the flat 3 button remote, u basically take the chip out of the remote and put it int he keyless receiver behind the dash and press a small button inside the receiver with the chip in, the red light will blink once. take the chip out and put it in the remote and ur good to go.

Search for how to take off the glove compartment, the receiver is behind the glove comparment, its black and has a door on the back of it, u open the door and do the chip thing which i instructed u.

As far as the LSD usually you can tell by putting the car up in the air and spinning the rear tires. If one spins forward and the other backwards then you don't have it, if they both spin together then you do. But unless the previous owner put one in i'm pretty sure it does not come stock.

The more fun way is to floor it and see if there are 2 strips of tire, or do some donuts

haha yeah right now the Valve cover is off, just did both front brakes, and oil change etc. Later on I'm gonna have the rear up to service those brakes, the squeak is pissing me off hahaha. Then new spark plugs too when I pick em up, and I want to get new headlights, the Xeon ones like my friends 2002 325i After that I'm not sure, I'm gonna detail the car for sure also replace the brake fluids, and manual gear box oil change, power steering fluid, and maybe tranny as well. THEN!!! Check water pump and fuel injector too. :P I mean it's all "ok" for as is, but it's my new baby, and she will be perfect!

you all seem to be very knowledgeable about these Xeon Headlight.. wel.. i have a 2003 325i.. and I want to purchase Xeon Head Lights.. with Angle Eye.. can some one please help me pick out the right one for my car.. and with the angle eye...
