Fault Code: Camshaft Sensor

I had my Check Engine light on for 3 days and decided to check the code.
It says "Camshaft Sensor fault".
Is it a big deal to replace Camshaft sensor or am I in for a big surprise (stealership)?

Well if you replace the sensor.. the best thing instructional wise.. would be to do it per the manual.. Bentley is a good one... its not all that hard.. I've done it twice.. takes maybe 30 mins... all depends on the worker...

well, not sure what kind of bmw u got but on my ride, I had it done by a local trusted mechanic. He had to take apart quite a bit to get to it. Cost me about 150 labor. I think he said the part was like 100 from the stealership.

so where does the other end of the intake sensor plug into and how do i find it? dont tell me its hiden under the mani...

intake sensor or camshaft position sensor the other end of the cam shaft position sensor is under the intake manifold, you can first try removing the oil filter housing assembly, even then it's still difficult to reach, but that's easier than removing the entire intake manifold
