So the fans and AC don't turn on all the time. I have an electronic temperature and fan unit, (buttons not knobs) on my 96 318is. I was told that more than likely there is a short in the control unit. Has this happened to anyone else? I would say 10% of the time the fans come on when you turn them on, the rest of the time they won't work. Also, does anyone know where to pick up on of the control units for a reasonable price?
Do a search on google.com for this... I've read a write up where the resistor or something of that nature may be replaced. You do not have to buy a all new control unit... also do a search on this site... I think there is some info there... I would do that for you but I'm at work...
Thanks for the help, I will do a search, not sure what I should search for though, since i don't know the name of the unit. I tried the link but it didn't work for me, so I will try again in a bit (sometimes my computer has issues.) Thanks guys.
