| Sounds like a lost cause. First off, the Alpine changer has an aftermarket Alpine DIN plug that matches other Alpine head units (be it Ai-Net or CD Shuttle type). So even if the plug in your e36 had not been hacked off by some moron, you would still be required to purchase an adaptor from BlitzSafe or somebody like them for $35-75 so that it would fit your Alpine changer instead of a BMW changer (that most likely was actually made by Pioneer of Alpine for BMW).
If you can find a DIN plug diagram for both the plug and the changer, it could be done, but I think the polarity on the oem plug is reversed compared to the Alpine changer, that is why that BlitzSafe adaptor contains electronics, not just a dual female adaptor....
