I took my alpine cd plyer out of my 99' Landrover and want to put it in my 97' 328is. All seems like it would work but my BMW plug was cut off by the prior owner. All the wires are there but I'm not sure about the color matching or diagram to make it work properly. Any one know what color wire from the Alpine Cd player plugs into what color BWM wire. Any help is greatly appreciated,

Sounds like a lost cause. First off, the Alpine changer has an aftermarket Alpine DIN plug that matches other Alpine head units (be it Ai-Net or CD Shuttle type). So even if the plug in your e36 had not been hacked off by some moron, you would still be required to purchase an adaptor from BlitzSafe or somebody like them for $35-75 so that it would fit your Alpine changer instead of a BMW changer (that most likely was actually made by Pioneer of Alpine for BMW).

If you can find a DIN plug diagram for both the plug and the changer, it could be done, but I think the polarity on the oem plug is reversed compared to the Alpine changer, that is why that BlitzSafe adaptor contains electronics, not just a dual female adaptor....
