I was looking at exhaust pipes from autozone.com. Anyone know the size of the muffler on a 98' 328i? 2"? 2 1/8" ... etc.

Not sure but if you do find anything out tell me. Mine looks like its not exactly round so I'm not sure about putting any tips on them. I would like to but I would want something that would blend in with the pipes and not stick off.
I may end up just going to autozone and seeing if any of their exhaust pipes fit, if not, i'm sure they would cut them for you. You should give that a shot too. That and their only about $9.99 for the most expensive.

Yup, I think your right. I doubt it too, I actually havent seen any except on bavauto. But can't i just put two 2 2.2.5's next to eachother. We're talking pipe covers here, just for a little style.

Just the tip, but i found Part # :*82 12 9 404 730 ... which is supplied by bavauto.com. Only problem, I dunno if I wanna spend $30 on just exhaust tips ... unless i have too. Also, I am not welding, and i was wondering if these can just be screwed on. With or w/o piercing the muffler.

Why are you even putting a tip on them? Mine were all rusty but I sanded them down and shined them up, looks like an aftermarket muffler now. It's not totally done, this is all I did in like 10 mins.

Same reason people put on clear parking lights etc. ... it looks good.

Well ok then. Yeah, you can just screw most of them on with only leaving a small little mark that is hardly noticable by the end of the exaust pipe underneath, not the part you see, the other side. Ok that was confusing, sorry.

I have the BMW exhaust tips on a 328is. They're great and shine up real nice. The stock ones just looked black and crappy. These add some subtle sweetness to the back of the car. Also, you simply tap them on them screw in a pressure screw to keep them on. No welding or drilling.
