Hey guys
I want to change my exhaust system to let the air flow out better but this is one part i know nothing about. I want an exhaust which will sound sporty (deep and a little loud) but only when i want it to. Like when I downshift or high reving the car...+3.5-4K
I have always been very skeptical to do an exhaust job and worried about the fact that when I make long road trips I might get annoyed with the loud sound. I am sure some of you had that concern and if someone could guide me in the right direction...i would be grateful.
Also a buddy of mine told me that since my car has 105K I should replace the cat. converter as well.....do you guys think i should ? because I only have like $400 to spend now and was hoping to sqeeze in an exhaust system for around that.

That's just a muffler. If you put that on your car you're going to lose performance. You car has 2 2" pipes all the way back from the headers. You'd have todo a 2into 1 y pipe into that muffler which would make a serious restriction.
I say just go with a used M3 muffler catback. I heard one and it sounded pretty good but wasn't very loud at idle or when it started.

P.S. You could also buy a generic muffler and have a shop fab up some 2" pipe for you. Just make sure if you order a mufler off Ebay that is has dual inlets.

hey
kevin: i heard the one you sent...it is too sharp and quite loud for what i want, but it seems good.
also how do u know when the cat. converter is gone bad ?
hey robin, i mainly want power, with a little bit of a louder, deeper sound then the stock one. Like when I debaffled my airbox i loved the sound, deep and were racy...not sharp and fine like most ones...not sure if that makes sense but i want one def for performance but with a sprorty sound when i push the car at high revs......budget still 400 max
thanks guys

this is what the guy had to say about the exhaust : "I don't have sound clip on this exhaust, but its very deep rumble sound only when you step hard on the accelerator. Idles smooth, for sure it gives you performance as well in sound. These exhaust are custom made, no brand name. The design is based on Super Sprint exhaust system. Thank you on inquiry !!!"
I did not want to buy one without hearing it so asked him if he could arrange something...but anyone heard of this ?
