exhaust sound from my 318... - BMW Forum

i have been noticing a rattle or a flap kind of sound when i accelerate lately. a friend said..what is that sound..it sounds gay....(wow...)

then my step dad had to move my car off the street when i was gone to put it on our drive way. he also said that i should have our mechanic look at it because it sounds louder and kinda sounds like there is something loose.

we had a problem before, there was a crack or hole some where in the exhaust system, so our mechanic welded it back up. this was about 1 year ago. maybe not even.... by the way i fuckin hate mesquitos. i think i might have west nile because i have been bit like a million times and they are all over my bathroom..f|_|ckers..

does anyone else have this problem or know what might be going on... there goes another one of my paychecks........

yeah i have the same problem there are bugs everywhere hear too! oh wait the exhuat umm mine before i changed it sounded bad so i just changed it thats all i can say for you to do? or else get it welded up again?

is there a better than stock aftermarket exhaust out there that doesnt cost 700 bucks? thats about how much you can get a remus for, but its not even worth it for this car....

yeah i know what you mean, well if you dont want to sped that money why not just get a muffler that makes the same noise> theres onesthat actaully sound good!

Try Brullen or Magnaflow.

$200 for the muffler and $100 for the piping (if you want a catback) and $50 for the install.

Approx. $350+

My 318 makes lots of noises. But I ignore them because it's a 4 cyl and it's noisey. Also, I've done too much to my car to worry about noises.

arnt magnaflows for trucks though? will it produce any premature wear to anything on my car? is it really loud, i dont want anything too too loud, but a little louder cant hurt. i know people with magna flows on their trucks, will it sound okay on my 318 and not be too ricey? What is this brullen? are they reputable?

and no, i dont have an outhouse. they like bathrooms because it is moist or humid(its called a shower). plus i have a sister, so its a jungle.

i dont care what it sounds like.... if i were to do somthing about my exhaust system, i would probably want to get everything, not just a muffler... if i just change the muffler, it wont do much besides make it sound louder, right? and i dont want a fart box...
