Here is a link to a thread about my exhaust. There is a sound clip to let you know what it sounds like Depending on what you are looking for, I HIGHLY recomend the one I have. {CLICK HERE}
I'm looking for something with a deep growl that won't be screaming loud at high RPMs. If I wanted a car to sound like a civic with a fart pipe, I would have bought a civic and put a muffler with a 6" tip on. Someone posted a sound clip of a borla exhaust in here a few days ago, that sounded good, but it's hard to make a decision based on a 2 min soundclip.

I'm not sure of your point in making this statement because, believe me, no BMW on this forum sounds anything like you described and it goes without saying that all of us want our rides to sound as cool as possible. If you find our replies unsatisfactory, there are many alternatives available for you.
Firstly, if you want to hear something in person, best thing to do is call some muffler/exhaust shops, local mechanics, the dealer or a custom shop in your area and ask them if they have any cars in the shop that have modified systems and if they'll let you hear them or to call you when a modified system is installed.
You might ask them for $$ estimates on different systems so they know you're interested in purchasing.
Secondly, maybe when you're out and about, keep an ear/eye out for modified systems that you can ask about.
Lastly, maybe post a note on different bmw boards asking owner's of modified systems within a 100 miles(or whatever you are willing to drive) to let you hear their system.
