hi everyone, i want to change the whole exhaust thing on my car, 94 318i, but not sure what to get, i want a deep non honda without a catalytic converter sound, any suggestions and price estimates? can change like just a small part or should i change all the pipes and stuff? thanks!
If it were me, I would talk to an exhaust shop that deals with Magnaflow or Flowmaster. There are cat-back systems out there, but they can be expensive. Being a single pipe, should not be a problem getting a custom muffler put on.

Try this site, they are cheaper and got videos with the 318ti which got virtually the same motor. see if you like it. look under exhaust systems and around there they should have some video links.

Yeah, big trucks come to mind. But Flowmaster makes mufflers for imports and domstic small cars also. Techtonics Tuning, a known VW parts place, sells Flowmaster cat-back systems, among others. Magnaflow also produces for the import crowd. www.bavauto.com has cat-back systems, as do others A search for "318 exhaust" should give some good websites, as well as a lot of trash, unfortunately.
A cat-back system is just that, everything replaces from the "cat" back to the rear of the car.
