Are the European Ellipsoid headlights I hear about an aftermarket thing from Europe or are they the lights that came on European e36s?

What do you mean add projectors? The EuroSpec ellipsoids have projectors in them...

So with European Ellipsoids (which are projectors), can you just buy the xenon equipment from a newer BMW and hook it up to the projectors?

Im the headlight expert, El Presidente is the xenon expert, but yes. I wouldn't search for oem xenons rather there are aftermarket companies that have kits for ZKW, inpro, etc. ellipsoids.

Bohmen is one such company. Check autowerks.com

Correct. You can purchase a relativly simple to install HID kit from them for $380 with a color temp of 5000k. You xan bluer ones if you like, but I did it for the lighting, not the look. I originally ordered that kit from a different company, but was sent a Hella kit instead. $400 was what I paid, and it was very much worth it.

You're going to be hearing from me alot... sorry but I like to be really educated b4 a purchase.

So, this is what I plan...

1. European Ellipsoids
2. Some sort of OEM Xenon (I'm an OEM fiend because I can get it cheap...)
3. Can I easily retrofit Angel Eyes (DDE I believe) into this equation?

I want to stay OEM for the cost aspect (seems weird to say that)....

Anyone know the part # for European Ellipsoids?

Dont have the number handy, but the NA spec are 63 12 1 468 865/866. They don't match any other ellipsoid numbers I have for older models, so those should be it.

not quite. Since you are getting yours from the dealer, you will also need the european headlight harness. The ellipsoids have 1 input for both bulbs, and you will need to cut your harnesses off and hardwire to the new harness, or see if you can buy a PnP kit from an ellipsoid retailer.
