Ok, so as some of you know, my car is going in for paint on the 18th - at which point I am suiting it up with an M3 body upgrade.

I was chatting with a guy at work today about the mirrors (which I have yet to buy) and he mentioned that there is actually a Euro OEM M3 mirror which is different (meaning better ) than the NA M3 mirrors...

Anyone know about this?

i know that there are two styles of m3 mirrors but i'm not sure if one is euro and the other na, these aren't oem but they are replicas, check them out and see the diff, this maybe what he was talking about, but if not please explain:

...and...

...disregard the leds on the first style, that is not what i'm saying makes them diff, i like the second style btter tho, just my opinion

ok geoff this is what i think they mean by different.

my mirrors NA version, are differnt sizes, the drivers side is longer and tilted ever so slightly , i think it was to maximize range of view. now because in europe they drive on the right hand side, the left mirror might actually be longer thus making it not worth a purchase.

Do you drive on the left or what?
I'm confused
Or do you say we sit on the right side of the car driving? If so, that is only in the UK.

I'm from Sweden, europe. And my mirrors look like this. Both are the same size I think. (pictures are fairly large so I post the links)

your mirrors look sweet in the picture from the front, i like that style better than the style in the first link i posted, i think the first link is a pair of m3 style mirrors that are kind of custom, is that right? cause i know they aren't oem style.

OK, I have not heard of two different styles of M3 mirrors. The ones kylebaker posted in the second link are the only ones i know. The first link look like some custom stuff not OEM on anything.

Europeans drive on the same side of the car as us. The only places that drive differently are the UK and counties that have a strong UK influence through the past(Australia). Also Japan and such but not europe.

ILivetoRide if you look at your mirrors the passenger side mirror looks a bit shorter to me(that is how it is supposed to be).

Get the mirrors that are shown here, they are the only ones I have seen on an M3 stock, and are going to be alot easier to find than the "mythical european" ones.

Thought the lighting tricked me a bit in the picture.
But you are right, I went out an measured.
The mirror on the right side sticks out about 1 inch more then the left, counted tip to window.

The mirror piece in the mirrors are the same size. The left one is just more swepped backwards positioning the mirror glass in a lower angle in respect to the window.

There was a post about a month ro so ago about the different lengths on mirrors and I had to go out and look at my dads M3 to believe it. But yep it looks like all M3 mirrors for the E36 are slightly shorter on the passenger side.

From that picture they don't look much different than M3 mirrors. Maybe a little sharper angles but you can't really see them. Do you have a closer pic or EGK do you have a better pic of them?
