engine management light not coming on!

hi, im not getting no engine light at all even when starting my car! any ideas on how to fix this or whats causing it! i cant fit my airflow chip till i fix it, can anyone save me please????

actually, check all your fuses first and make sure they all ok.

in they event they are fine, the job requires you to take down your instrument cluster to change the "CEL" light. The pelican tech pages might have a step-by-step procedure on how to do that; but, i suggest you have you car scanned to make sure it is the bulb. Bimmers display a code that will let u know that the bulb is indeed the fault ;-)

They mean the testing of the light during engine start.

It is probably a blown bulb or misconnected wire; the instrument panel in the E36 is held in by only three screws, so isolating the problem should not be very difficult.
