My BMW is 95 318i stick shift, and this afternoon, I washed the car, but no water has directly entered into the engine, however, after i cleaned it, I couldnt start it again. And the light of "check engine" keeps flashing. Does anybody help me?
did you wash the engine compartment or just the exterior....

dude i went through that twice and it only happenings when i went to the carwash , dont worry my car dried up in a day, and the ecu did get wet , but bmw ecu are ver good and dont damage so easily.so by the time u get this reply u should have turned her om already. but make sure u dont let too much water get in from the passenger side front windshield..g luck
Considering the fact that if not properly sealed the ecu is most likely to get wet die to the fact of it actually sitting on the floor of its compartment. Well guess what... You can easily configure a stand or platform made out of wood or hard thick plastic, open the compartment mount the ecu on it and securely fit it it back into place. Which will prevent the device sitting in a puddle of water should any leak occur.
