EML Light On - Loss of Power

Can anyone help... 2 months ago my Engine mangament Light (EML) came on and stayed on, causing loss of power max speed 35mph. Local garage diognosed as mis-firing cylinder.

Had replaced and drove off relieved I only paid £100. Yesterday I filled my tank up (FULL) and this morning EML Light back again with loss of power.

Are there other areas I should be considering, before I call into garage to argue any faults should be done free of charge?

well what did you get replaced? if its missfires it could be one of your spark plugs, injectors or wires busted...

Thumbs up Loss of Power

Sorry, 1 of 4 spark plug was replaced, I found out last night to my annoyance beleiving all 4 to have been done. just collected car having paid an additional £80 to replace another x2 plugs x1 (being faulty) out of stock for the 4th plug... eel a little aggrieved but so far so good EML stayed off, although I'm not holding my breath as the drive doesnt feel quite right. The mpg indicator all over place, would I be correct to presume this indicates csome sort of cleaning of valve need to take place.

Also if my tyres were below legal limit would that cause the light to come on?

No, tires wouldnt cause that light to come on. tires have its separate light. and yeah see spark plugs was the problem because it is 90% of the time if cylinders missfire. for better safety try running your car on 91 or higher gas and also get one of those injector cleaners that would improve your gas milage.

95 octane is recommended for e36's I ran mine on 98 for a wile ran smoother but then we got a huge price rise to $2.20 a liter so went back to the 95. But as far as I know all you people up there in the northern hemisphere have superior quality fuel in comparison to us down here in New Zealand. 91 oct burns hotter than the rest and has a less predictable combustion so plugs don’t last as long if not the rite temp rating for that octane fuel . Just for my knowledge , £80 to buy two spark plugs and get them put in is a bit steep isn't it? I don't know what the exchange rate is or what you guy's pay for getting things done over there but its a 15 min job (to do 6 I've done it a few times on mine) , including buying over here id hate to think it would be any more than $60 which is about £20.
