Exactly. You can take a risk with depo and possibly get a good set, and they will only set you back about $200-250. be warned, the glass is not as thick and plastic is not as high quality as others. The DDEs in them suck though, and you will want the aforementioned brand.

I can't seem to find an HID conversion kit for my car. I went to Umnitza, and the ZKW's are like $600, I feel if i'm gonna spend that much, maybe it's worth it to go HID?
if you plan to go ellipsoid, I would really reccomend you sell the kit you bought, and buy another one after you get the ellipsoids. The ones you have now wont work in an ellipsoid.

I have a depo set. I have not installed them yet, as I have been waiting for the HID to come in. My initial reaction was they were a higher quality than I expected.
As I have not installed them yet, I can neither confirm or deny the fogging issues. From my research, about 25-35% of depos have the problem. It can be solved by taking the lense off and rubbing in an antifog solution.
The other issue people seem the have with them is than the glass is thin. I don't find it to be thick, but I don't find it extremely thin either. Its between 1/4-1/2 inch thick, closer to 1/4.
There are other stories of people putting in HID and the plastic melts, but I dismiss that as pure internet BS. Halogens would melt it just as easily.

The other thing. The ZKW projector uses a better lense. You will get more light from it. The question then to you is, is that much extra light (which can't possibly be that much) worth the extra $200. If you have the money, go with ZKW. If you want a set now and just have to give in (me) then buy the depos. I may regret my desision come tomorrow when I install them, but for now I'd say get them if you have to have them, and no matter what they will be an improvement over the stock.

Alright. I am considering selling my kit now. I want to get ellipsoids and I want HID if I get them. SOOO, I figure I'll wait on the HID until I decide to get the ellipsoids. Thanks for the info.
Ok. I'm not following. I have looked at the ellipsoid product at umnitza an also the HID ebay link. Each of them look like a complete product. i.e. HID is an alternative to the ellipsoids. How is it that camnipotent seems to want them both? What did I miss?
Well, I bought the HID kit a while ago. I haven't installed them yet and have recently been interested in a set of ellipsoids with blue angel eyes. If I get those, I want HID. I won't get the ellipsoids until I buy both the ellipsoids and HID's. The problem with my kit that I have now, is, I guess, that they won't fit ZKW ellipsoids. This would mean that I would have to by a different HID if I got ellipsoids. SOOO, I decided to sell my kit and when I find the right ellipsoids, I will get the correct HID conversion kit. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET ZKW ELLIPSOIDS WILL BLUE ANGEL EYES WITH HIDS?
