Electronic problems... - BMW Forum

Hello Friends,

My 98 328is is having some recent electronic problems. They all started at about the same time, so I'm thinking they may be related to some common cause.

The cruise control stopped working, the fuel gauge is not working properly (erratic, usually reading empty), and the temperature gauge is not working (stuck on cold).

All the fuses look OK. I've tried the trick of pulling fuses 31 and 46 and reinserting as I've read for the fuel gauge but it didn't help. I've checked the wiring in the trunk and everything there looks OK.

Anybody know what it could be or how to approach this??

Maybe a stupid question, but since you've mentioned all of your problems started at almost the same time, did something happened around that time?
Some external influence like heavy rain for example?

Only thing I can tell you right now is that to the best of my knowledge all the components you've described are being managed by the GM/ZKE, behind your glovebox.
