Has anyone experienced something similar to this...

Electric front windows in my 316i, but I got a flat battery the other day and since then I have had a few wierd probs with the windows...they will open so long as either of the doors is open (driver or passenger) but if everything is shut and i am driving the dont work, electric mirrors work fine etc. its just the windows.

I cant understand it, is there an obvious fix???? it get hot when i drive, and i have to pull over evertime i wanna open the windows

Its just annoying and i wanna fix it all help is very appreciated!

Regards,
Am

Nah it aint a coupe, its a saloon but only front power windows, its one of the early european e36's (UK spec imported direct from germany)

By trick do you mean, using a gadget or a sequece of stuff like press it up for 5 sec etc?

I read in the haynes manual that pressing each of the buttons upwards for 5 secs it should reset the the windows to normal but didnt do much, my minds baffled....

Anyone else have any ideas?

Child lockout switch activated? Broken wire in door loom? Only things I could think of.
