Has anyone ever tried to convert their 'pop-out' rear windows of their coupe to be electrically operated? The research I've been able to do suggests that this isn't available until '99 or '00. I can get the parts, wiring and installation will not be a problem but will they fit correctly and be a direct replacement for the manual latches? If anyone has tried and/or done this? Any info, part numbers etc would be helpful. Thanks

I know on earlier BMWs people use the electric rear window openers from dodge caravans... I've thought about this for mine, just haven't started to look into it yet.
It's been done. It's a lot of time and money as Speed mentioned, but it's cool as shit. You'll need to do a lot of custom work. It's straight up all e46 equipment mounted into the rear bolsters.

You can also use the electric window mechanisms out of the mid 90's ford windstars. but as mentioned before, to make it look clean, lots of time and money are required.
