why is 9 out of every 10 posts asking if certain ebay products are good or not. Why dont people stick with respectable products i.e. schnitzer, dinan, TMS, bavarian or something. Personally i like knowing the company actually exists and sticks behind their materials.

Yeah. As I said before, if you're gonna go out and spend a ton of cash on a nice car, don't put cheap crap on it! That is, unless your parents bought your bmw for you, in which case you shouldn't be here in the first place!!

i disagree with all of u. sorry if it sounds a little rude, thats not the intention at all.
My parents bought it for me and all the upgrades are from my hard earned money as an intern at a company for the summer. so things like shark injectors where i have no choice, i spend it all...stuff like CAI which canbe made at a fraction of the cost ....i wont go for DINAN and stuff just cuz i cant afford it but still want a decent upgrade.
of course if i had infinite amount of money i would definately agree with all your comments...go for the best if u have the cash...if not see which things u could work around...thats the fun of it...

Some parts off of EBAY are a great deal... it all depends on which parts.. and who is selling them. For example... you can pick up pretty good clear corners for most models of BMWs for a very cheap price... I got mine for $17 and I could have been paying over 50 or something... it just takes a lot of research.

I would say research the hell out of anything you put on a car. As the car is something you, your self will be riding in... its your life... its your image you are protraying. So treat it as such.

I pick and choose which parts I'm willing to take a risk on. Like clear corners, I'll take a chance on a $30 pair of crystal corners, and they worked out fine.

I won't take a chance on an exhaust system though. The odds of it sounding like a honda civic are high, and so are the odds that it will rust out in a year.

Saving $30 or $40 on a low budget item like clear corners saves more money for things like M3 cams, and OBDI conversion kits.

hey
i agree with alpine too.....sorry again i wasnt coming out to sound rude but the post did not specify you were just talking about exhaust, it just saiid ebay parts...
anyways i agree that one must research a lot before getting anything which is what i do for everything...not just blindly buy it cuz it has the name....thats just my $0.02 on it...
also my buddy got this really nice custom made exhaust of ebay a couple yrs ago which sounds almost identical to a supersprint one.....so far no rust or anything...i went ahead and got one of those for myself toooo....so sometimes u cud find something decent....not saying it is as good as a REMUS OR SUPERSPRINT but its a decent upgrade for someone with limited cash suppy....

sorry again didnt mean to come off on anyone...i have seen couple of post up like this and was gettin a little frustrated.

thanks

Yah Deloriant come on, be nice to us.
I'm fortunate enough for my father to have bought my car, and I still don't have much money to pay for repairs, tires, and upgrades, so I have to resort to lower "quality" stuff. I still treat my car like it's my baby, (maybe a bit dirty but it's still my baby!)

I drive a LOT, so gasoline & repairs are my main costs, I simply don't make enough money programming stuff at this college to afford dinnan etc. equipment when other aftermarket stuff can do the same job at a fraction of the cost.

This forum is a forum for BMW enthusiasts, last time I assessed the general population, not for people who ONLY bought their car with their own money. Even though I'm not a mod nor admin and have practically zero power on this forum, please respect other people's situations.

I am only kidding dude. My spite for people who have nice cars bought for them is only rooted with jealousy. I guess it just gets on my nerves when you have someone like me --> a 19 year old who lives on his own, pays all his own bills, insurance, utilities, everything, works his ass off (usually around 70 hours a week), and then along comes some 16 year old bitch whose daddy buys him a brand new bmw and he flys over speedbumps at 25. Seriously, this kid was driving me around in his 2004 m3 that his dad bought him and he took a speedbump at like 30. I almost punched him square in the jaw I swear.

hey
ya i see what kind of people your not too fond of....people like me are the ones who convinced our parents somehow to buy us a 8-9 yr old bmw instead of a brand new KIA or HYUNDAI.....and after we get it we are on our own.....i got shafted since i had to spend almost 2000 on a new clutch and flywheel only 6 months after i got it...

anyways the ones that are fed from a silver spoon all their lives are the best people i know......but think of it....if my pop gave me $80K to buy a car i would def pull out a new 645Ci ......but i wud try my best not to act like the ones we see around...snobbish fools who dont know how to drive a car for what its built...performance...etc..

anyways all cool...no hard feelings.....sorry if i came off to abruptly again
thanks
