Don't think there is a dinan chip for a 95 unless your production date is before 1/95. Turnermotorsport makes one for the 95 though.

i wouldn't buy a dinan chip if i were you, you have no way of telling if it is real or not before you buy it, and if it is alot cheaper than on actual store sites like turnermotorsports, than chances are they are fake, just watch out for stuff that will control your whole engine when buying on ebay

There are quite a few members running ebay chips with a little bit of gain, maybe they will jump in. But didn't bmws switch to the OBDC II in 96? So shouldn't you have the same computer as a 94?

Just to clarify the "Dinan Chips" on eBay....

Dinan does not sell "chips". What they do is download software to your existing computer. It re-maps everything depending on what you already have on your car. There are stage 1, 2, and 3 softwares that Dinan has to offer depending on how much engine mods you have. So don't go for the "Dinan Chips" on eBay, go to a BMW dealer and speak to a Dinan representitive if you want to know what stage is right for your car.

Lori is right, it's pre '96, not '95. Eventhough, that can be changed.

Second, Ebay is not the place to buy software for your car. Yes it may work great, but it could also FUBAR your entire engine management system if your not careful. This is a pretty key component of the e36 cars, I wouldn't skimp here.

Lastly, it's my understanding that Dinan does indeed make chips. The only time they would flash your ECU, is if you have a 1996-99 e36. {HERE}

Well I didn't neccessarily mean just ebay. I remember several people selling bootlegged copied of their chip. I hear it's rather easy to copy one to another. Anyway, I'm not willing to spend 200 on a chip. If it were more in the range of 100 or under(like from a second source) I'd be up for it. Like someone said, I have obd1 so shouldn't it all be the same until 96? Or atleast very similar?

AHEM!

in 96, BMW switched to the 2.8L to compensate for OBDII power losses...

Nope, in '95 they still had 325. '96 they replaced the 325 with 328.

Anyways, Dinan does make chips, because I have one for my OBD1 M42. Learn from my friend's expensive lesson, I will never cheat out on buying chips. My friend bought a copy Garrett chip off some shop and it fried his entire computer, not good. If the IC chip is poorly made and say the little contacts bridge and touch each other, it will fry the computer.

Ohhh, so there's no 325s between 96 and 99, and no 328s before 96?

Awesome, didn't know that.
