e46 rims on e36

Would e46 rims work on an e36 or are there different measurements that would make this not work? If so, are there spacers/adapaters to make it work?

Thanks.

Yes, they're direct bolt-on replacements. As long as the tire on the rim is suitable as well. But generally speaking any tire & rim combo that'll fit on the E46 will fit on the E36. I just put some 17's w/225/45-17 tires off an E46 on my kid's E36 last month. Fit perfect.

Only e46 3 series wheels. e46 M3 wheels are too wide in the rear to work.
