E46 328I performing like a 318i

Hi

I have this wonderful car 328i, 1999 model - i recently did a minor service but i still can't get the proper performance i need. Gears 1 and 2 are weak for a 328i, but on a down slopped area the car moves quite nice. I think it got something to do with a clutch cable, is that possible?

Please assist.

What servce did you perform? I would take it to get the OBD system scanned for codes. Most local auto parts stores like Advance Auto Parts had code scanners and will do it for free. Odds are of their is a problem with the transmission it will throw a code.

They did oil change, air filter, oil filter, all the plugs. and i need it to be checked out again.

Was it running fine before the service? If so I would have already taken it back and complained. It should never ruN worse after a service.

Complete WAG on my part but sometimes installing incorrect spark plugs can cause an engine to run poorly.

Thats true. The E36 runs like crap with certain plugs. The NKG BRK6EK are the most recommended plugs.

I have a 98 328i. I forgot to ask, is yours a manual or an automatic?

My 318i is a manual, 5 speed.

I assume Lindang's 328i is also a manual as he referred to a 1st and 2nd gear in his first post.
