E36 will not start after after sitting overnight

Hi all...1995 e36 bmw 318i 2 dr conv 180K
battery purchase 1-29-10 (date on battery say 10/09)
Just want to let you all know that I just found before trying to pinpoint and pay for engine diagnosis, that a battery can go bad very quickly (inner default ) my batter was losing it's charge after a day or two of sitting....I was reading all the post about possible problems that could drain the battery....Hmmmm.Im no expert, just trying to save dime if I can. But it you are sure you are not leaving any on or the trunk light is not constantly on, then take the battery while still in car to have it checked....I had a 2 yr warranty and the shop tried to tell me that battery was good....until they tested it while on my car (Note: when I took the batter into shop, they ave me a hassle about it.. So I go a new battery, all said and done. No more drained battery.

As long as the alternator is running the car all is good....I had some tell me Oh! your alternator is bad.....Hmmmm! on these cars if the alternator goes bad the car will not drive.
