E36 UK headlamp conversion for continental Europe - help please - BMW Forum

Hi, Does anyone know how to convert UK (Right-Hand Drive) headlamps for use in France?

It's a standard E36 UK-spec ellipsoid, and I'm trying to block off the part of the beam that will blind other drivers when I'm driving on the other side of the road. I can't seem to get anywhere with taping up part of the lens. I had a friend whose 5-series could be changed from inside the lamp, but the dealer had to do it. Does the E36 have something similar?

If not, any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

I noticed a chapter in my owners manual on that. If you do not have your manual I will paste a copy of the directions hope that helps

you can try rotating the projector int he housing maybe? id have to have the lights in hand to see whats actually going on...

That would be great. I've got a manual, but couldn't find anything about it. There must be a way to rotate the lens, but I can't see it...
